PERSONS IN PAID EMPLOYMENT, BY ACTIVITIES AND COUNTIES, SITUATION AS ON 31 MARCH 2022

An increase in the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities by counties, with the situation as on 31 March 2022, as compared to the same day in 2021, was recorded in 17 counties. The highest increase in the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was recorded in the County of Zadar (5.3%), followed by the County of Istria (3.4%), the County of Virovitica-Podravina (3.2%), the County of Zagreb (2.8%), the City of Zagreb (2.7%), the County of Primorje-Gorski kotar, the County of Split-Dalmatia and the County of Dubrovnik-Neretva (2.5% each), the County of Šibenik-Knin (2.2%), the County of Karlovac (1.9%), the County of Požega-Slavonia (1.7%), the County of Krapina-Zagorje, the County of Sisak-Moslavina and the County of Bjelovar-Bilogora (1.6% each), the County of Koprivnica-Križevci (1.5%), the County of Osijek-Baranja (0.7%) and the County of Međimurje (0.2%), while the number of persons in employment in the County of Lika-Senj, with the situation as on 31 March 2022, remained at the same level.

The remaining three counties recorded a decrease in the number of persons in employment in legal entities: the County of Varaždin (0.2%), the County of Slavonski Brod-Posavina (0.6%) and the County of Vukovar-Sirmium (1.0%).

NOTES ON METHODOLOGY

Data on the number of persons in employment in legal entities are the result of the annual survey conducted once a year with the situation as on 31 March. The survey covers all legal entities of all types of ownership, government bodies and bodies of local and regional self-government units on the territory of the Republic of Croatia.

Data are collected on the RAD-1G form, filled in by legal entities on the basis of records on persons in paid employment.

Data include the estimated number of persons in employment in legal entities employing less than 10 persons, for whom reports were not submitted. This survey does not cover persons in employment in crafts and trades and free lances or private farmers. Since 2004, persons in employment in the police and defence have been included in the survey.

Data on counties are presented according to the NKD 2007 sections and according to the place of work by territorial constitution in compliance with the Act on the Territories of Counties, Towns and Municipalities in the Republic of Croatia (NN, Nos 86/06, 125/06, 16/07, 95/08, 46/10, 145/10, 37/13, 44/13, 45/13 and 110/15).
