Employment in the Croatian Bureau of Statistics

The procedure for admission to the civil service in the Croatian Bureau of Statistics is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Servants Act and the Ordinance on Invitation to and Conduct of Public Tender and Internal Job Announcement in Civil Service.

Job vacancies in the Croatian Bureau of Statistics are filled in the following ways:

 

1 PUBLIC TENDER

A public tender is obligatory for the admission of trainees and when it is expressly laid down by law. A public tender must be published in Narodne novine, the Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia, on the website of the central public administration body competent for the civil service system and on the website of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.

A Notice on Invitation to Public Tender must be submitted to the competent employment service.

 

2 INTERNAL JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Only civil servants can apply for an internal job announcement and no invitation to public tender is required. An internal job announcement is posted for the positions that require years of experience in the corresponding jobs in the civil service.
A Notice on Invitation to Public Tender is published only on the website of the central public administration body competent for the civil service system and on the website of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.

 

3 ANNOUNCEMENT

For the performance of temporary jobs or jobs with temporarily increased volume of work, and which are not of permanent nature, as well as for the replacement of an employee who has been absent for a long time, persons may be admitted to the Croatian Bureau of Statistics for a definite period for the duration of temporary jobs or jobs with temporarily increased volume of work, or until the return of the absent employee. Persons may also be admitted to the civil service for a definite period for work on a project that is financed from the European Union funds or programmes for the duration of the project.

Persons are admitted to the Croatian Bureau of Statistics for a definite period by means of an announcement posted by the competent employment service, on the website of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics and on the website of the central public administration body competent for the civil service system.
An announcement for a job vacancy for a definite period may not be posted if there are civil servants admitted for a definite period in the Croatian Bureau of Statistics who meet the job requirements.
Civil service for a definite period may not become civil service for an indefinite period.
